Chapter 16 part 4
Today we are covering Revelation 16:12-16
I remember as a teenager my curiosity for the book of Revelation was piqued when my boyfriend’s father (now my father-in-law) was teaching a home bible study and this was the book of topic. I’ve always had a habit of being attracted to a challenge and this book presents a challenge to pay attention and to truly study the rest of the Bible in order to clearly understand. While I absolutely will not claim to be a Bible scholar, I am a good student, and I love to study God’s word. If you are having a difficult time studying and retaining the words of the Bible, I recommend keeping a Bible journal. This helped me get started and keep my studies organized and easier to understand. Read a chapter or two a day and write down what you read in a simplified way so you can retain the information and apply it to your life. Don’t give up. You’ll get there.

“Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.”
Coming back to chapter 16, we are in the midst of the tribulation, the very middle to be exact. God is pouring out His judgement upon the earth described to us here as pouring out bowls. The unrepentant and rebellious people who have hardened heir hearts against God are now facing His punishment. The river Euphrates stands between Israel and the eastern kingdoms that would threaten it. In pouring of the sixth bowl, the river will dry up and make way for the kings of the east to attack. While the world will have excuses for how and why it all happens, this is all part of God’s original plan, the beginning of a massive, and devastating, final war.
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”
Surviving the Last Days, Preparing for Battle:
We know that the antichrist is going to make a show of himself and claim to be God, but he will be a pawn of the Devil. The demons will control him and he will be used to deceive the world for satan’s purpose which has always been to become like the one true God. That statement may sound familiar to you. Beware of any religion or practice that claims you are a god, that we are all god or that we can become like gods, which was Satan’s original lie to eve in genesis has though the generations stayed the same only being presented in different ways. The same box with different wrapping paper, if you will. This lie that he tells will stir the masses into a battle when his demons seek out those willing to fight. What fear can do to a person’s heart is terrible. Beware believer how easily it can tear down walls and destroy your faith. There is nothing to fear that is greater than God’s judgement. We should stand strong against the lies of the enemy and focus on eternity with Christ.
““Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.””
Jesus has promises He will return and it will be a swift return and victory. Those decided by the antichrist who believe they can defeat God in this battle will be overtaken in an instant. There is no battle against God, He who created the earth with a few words can destroy it with only a thought. Those who are watching and preparing for the return of the King are called blessed as they are the only ones not lead and deceived by the antichrist. They will be those who have survived the first half of the tribulation and become believers, trusting in God and waiting for Christ’s return.
“And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.”
This last epic battle might be long in the making and seem as if the world has gathered its forces for a mighty victory but the end of it all will come with much loss and the world will be conquered by the True King. Little sparrows, teach your children well, tell your neighbors about Jesus, and let His light shine bright in you that those around you will see Him and Believe in Him and turn to Him before the tribulations begins.
