Surviving the Last Days (Chapter 14 part 1)

Updated: Dec 12, 2023

Those Without fault

In a world falling apart and crumbling with fear, pride, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, the Lord gathers 144,000 saints to stand tall in this spiritual battle and places a mark on their foreheads to show that they are His. As John describes their voices singing like the sound many waters and like the voice of loud thunder, there is more than the simple sound of a large gathering singing a song together. Can you imagine a song that cannot be learned? One that only those who have been chosen and marked can sing?

“Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.”

These chosen #evangelists are referred to as without fault. There are a few times in the Billie where someone was without fault but the point I want to make is that we all should strive for this title. Though we are sinners in need of the grace of God to attain forgiveness, that does not mean we should simply accept that we are less than perfect and live as we may without a care because He has promised to cleanse us. We should be focusing daily on doing our best to become blameless. Philippians 2:15 tells us how to do that.

“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”

Complaining and disputing are things that come naturally to us as children. When I don’t like the weather I complain about it. When the server forgets to give me something I ordered or a car cuts me off on the road, I can become a grouch and irritable mess. The Lord wants me to handle all things with the same grace that He has given me.

These 144,000 thousand redeemed souls must have God’s watchman on their mouths because I t says in verse 5 that in their mouth was found no deceit. Even on my best day, my mouth can get me into trouble and thats where we return to that same reminder of being daily in the Word of God. I know I for one cannot stay focused on the things he has taught me if I am not in His word daily. It’s so easy to be distracted by the world and the things I want or have to do and set my time with Him aside. But, this is the most important time of every day and it should be prioritized.

“These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God.”

When I started Scripture Sparrow, I had been waking up early for years to put my #Bible study time first and foremost in my day, even if I only got 5 or 10 minutes. I struggles in the beginning to do it daily. When my live started falling apart it seemed like making that morning commitment was so much easier than when everything was going fine. Maybe because I felt I needed Him more in those days than in others but the truth is I always need fellowship with God.

As you go about your days and weeks ahead, little sparrows, I encourage you to drive to be like these 144,000 believers. Put the Lord and your time with Him first in your day. Focus your #prayers and thoughts on Him and set out to become blameless and harmless. I encourage you to try a morning devotion if you have not already. I can’t promise your day will be better for it, but your walk with God will change when you put Him first every morning.
