Am I denying God? What is it to #deny? The dictionary defines it as; "a state that one refuses to admit the truth or existence of." When God calls me to say or do something that is out of my comfort zone, do I deny that it's His voice I hear and run the others way? Or, do I listen to the call and answer in #faith.
“And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.”

When God Calls
What if God asked me to quit my job with no other perspective work opportunities in sight? Would I do it? Then, imagine He says to move to the other side of the country. That one is a little harder, right? Now, I'm #jobless and living thousands of miles away from everyone and everything I know. Then, as if punishment is coming down from the #heavens upon me, I can't seem to get a new job. Just when I think I might have one, God says "wait, don't do this. I have something else for you." What do I do now?
Well, that is exactly how #Scripturesparrow was born. Minus a few depressing details (Covid, shutdowns, mask delirium) and a long exhausting trek across the country, the road to blogging was anything but simple for me.
When God Speaks
How did I know God was speaking to me? I honestly can't explain that one. sometimes its a feeling, sometimes its a voice, sometimes God uses others to speak to us. When He does, I want to do my best to follow where He is leading, even if I'm uncertain of the outcome.
In a world where self-pleasure and gratification speak loudest, that still small voice is calling at the doorstep of our hearts. If you feel that God is speaking to you, listen and #pray. Sometimes you have to step out in faith and be willing to do something without knowing how or why, simply because God is calling you to do it.
Not My Will
Be aware how easily it is to think something we want is God's will for us. Always pray according to God's will and know that His answer is the right one, even if we don't like it.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
(also see Luke 11:9-10)
I have heard Christians and non-christians apply this verse to many things, using it to say that God will give you what you want if you keep asking. That isn't always so. Remember, this verse is about prayer and seeking God. He is promising to answer you if you are seeking Him. That doesn't mean He is promising you will like the answer.
Pray for everything. Pray always seeking His will for the day and for the path you will take when you step out the door (or sit on the couch, LOL). Asking God to guide you means you should be ready to follow whatever path He provides for you, no matter how different or difficult it may seem.
