Are you struggling with something right now? I may not want to admit it but, I am. Sometimes it seems like the struggles never cease. In these times when we wish we could step out of this reality and into an alternate one, it’s important to remember that God knows what we are going through. He may not fix the situation but He does in fact care about us. So much so, that He prepared a place in heaven that will be so amazing, it’s beauty and wonder will far outweigh the struggles we endure in this life.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

For those of us in the midst of our troubles, we may find it nearly impossible to look “on the brighter side” as they say, but it’s more than just looking ahead for better times. It’s recognizing the times we are in and the signs of what is to come. We are simply awaiting the return of our heavenly King. The world is currently showing us the birth-pains and as a result there will be some very hard times for those who remain.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”
Many times it seems unfair when we feel that we are the only ones struggling and our friends seem to have everything go according to plan. Remember that we cannot always see the struggles of others and just as we likely don’t share everything with them, there is a good shane they aren’t sharing everything with us either. We need to stay throng in our faith and lean on the hope that God’s promises have given us. Just because we cannot see those “better days ahead” or know what’s “just around the corner” doesn’t mean we should give up and walk away. Some of the best things that happen in life are the thing we never saw coming, but the very best things yet to come are written in His word for us to know and cling to.
“Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.”
So, while we continue on in our suffering and struggles whatever they may be, our focus should be on Him and we should strive to remain in His will. Pray, my fellow believer. Don’t pray because you have to. Pray with all honesty to God and lay bare your burdens before Him because He cares for you. When you don’t know how to pray or what to say, His spirit will speak for you. When I struggle with my situation sometimes my prayer is as simple as, “I trust you.” When I cannot force the words from my lips I simple call Him name.
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Believer, know that your struggles are not in vein. Have peace in knowing that God had a plan from the beginning and He knows how even this will end. As His children, we are called according to His purpose. We are tasked will following His plan even when we don’t know how or where to go next. He leads us. So, even when we cannot see how any good can come of a bad situation, we can trust that God can make it happen.
Through our suffering we grow in Him and learn to walk stronger because we lean on Him more. My strength comes from the Lord, it quite literally true. No matter how strong I think I’ve become, I will always need to remember that He is holding me up lest I fall. I applaud any believe who can learn this lesson without first falling over and over and over again.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
I pray you have a blessed day and be strengthened in knowing you are loved by the mighty God!
